The Jesus Encounter: A Bit of a Letdown

If you’re familiar with the story of John the Baptist, have you ever considered that the high point of his spiritual life was the moment he saw Jesus for the first time?  From then on, life got much worse for him and his confidence in Jesus waned.  Near the end of his cut-short life he asked, “Is Jesus the One?  Or are we supposed to wait for someone else?”

What if your “high point” with Jesus is already in the rearview mirror?  What do you do with a Jesus who isn’t doing it for you anymore?
